United Tribes Technical College

Associate of Applied Science
in Elementary Education

The Elementary Education vocation at UTTC will expose the student to a wide range of courses and disciplines. Upon completion of the requirements, the student will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science degree in Education. By the year 2006, all paraprofessionals and teacher aides employed by schools will be required to have a minimum of a two-year degree, as mandated by the No Child Left Behind Act. This degree will prepare graduates for the workforce and qualify them for a paraprofessional position in a tribal elementary, private, or public school. In addition, for those students who desire to obtain a Bachelor's level teaching degree, this plan is designed to transfer to a four-year degree university.
