CST 111  Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 A - 3 credits
A course in writing computer programs using Visual Basic, a computer language for students with no previous experience with a programming language.

 

CST 112  Microsoft Operating Systems 98 A - 3 credits
Basic instruction to microcomputer operating system functions and commands; designed to focus on basic concepts, techniques, methods, and tools that can be used to control and manage the computer system. Topics include how to configure and install an operating system, basic operation, file utility programs, operating system concepts and processing procedures.

 

CST 114 Cisco Semester I - 3 credits
This course provides students with the concepts and terminology of data communications, local area and wide area networks, communications hardware, standards, media, signaling concepts, error prevention, detection and correction.

 

CST 115 Microsoft Operating System 98 B - 3 credits
This course covers the skills needed to support Microsoft Windows, including installation, configuration, customization, administration, troubleshooting, messaging and other support issues.

CST 116 Microsoft Operating System 2000 A - 3 credits
This course will cover the skills needed to support Microsoft NT, including installation, configuration, customization, administration, troubleshooting and other support issues. The post-installation and day-to-day administration tasks in a single domain and multiple domain. Microsoft NT based network will be discussed.

CST 117 Microsoft Operating System 2000 B - 3 credits
This course provides students with the knowledge of utilizing various features of Microsoft Internet Information Server. Students will gain knowledge in installing, configuring, and supporting Internet Information Server.

CST 119 Microsoft Frontpage 2000 - 4 credits
This course is designed to help students with the study and application of communication of the World Wide Web with emphasis on web site design. Students will learn how to create their own web pages using HTML and Java code. The course will include such topics as internet search engines, setting cookies, procedures for getting web pages included in indexes and directories, secure transactions on the web, and obtaining unique domain names.

CST 210 Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 B - 3 credits
Students will be immersed in developing and constructing an entire program by having them build a custom application with multiple forms, incorporate menus, popup menus, status bars, and tool bars into applications. Implement form-level and field-level input validation. Debug applications using debugging tools provided in Visual Basic 6. Use standard controls, control arrays, and create controls dynamically. Execute centralized error-handling in applications. Use the data control for database access. Implement Drag and Drop in Visual Basic applications. Use Microsoft ActiveX Controls in Visual Basic applications. Create setup programs to distribute applications.

CST 213 Comp Tia A+ - 3 credits  (prerequisite TECH 115)
This course offers students the skills necessary to repair and upgrade personal computers. Students will be given hands-on training with personal computers, diagnostic and repair.

CST 217 CISCO Semester II - 6 credits  (prerequisite CST 114)
Students will learn about current and emerging technologies in CISCO networking system. This course will cover safety, networking, terminology, protocols, network standards, router configuration, typologies, and IP addressing.

CST 220 Internship in Computer Technology - 4 credits
Internship provides field experience in the computer technology field and an opportunity for on-the-job training in servicing, troubleshooting, PC repairing, upgrading and more.
