Cooperative Education is a paid internship
designed to get students into the workforce before they graduate.
Cooperative Education (CE) gives students the opportunity
for pre-professional, hands-on experience in their chosen vocations.
With this chance to sample the day-to-day reality of the job, students
will know if they've made the right career choice and, at the same time,
add value from the experience to their certificate or degree.
Cooperative Education Philosophy
CE is based on the philosophy that a combination of
classroom study and practical professional experience is the superior
method of education. It is an educationally managed agreement
and/or contract between the campus coordinator, vocational instructor,
employee supervisor, and the student.
CE
191 credits are based on specific objectives and calculated by the
number of hours worked.
- A minimum of 90 work hours are required per credit.
- Grading is Pass/Fail based on evaluation conducted
twice per semester by the campus coordinator, vocational instructor,
and employer supervisor.
