CT Introduction to Construction Technology - 3 credits
A course that provides an understanding of the "dual system justice" in the United States and an overview of the criminal justice process from arrest to parole.  The last four units covered are a review of the Tribal Court system.

 

CT 105 Print Reading I - 3 credits
A study of residential and light commercial construction plans and specifications.  This is a basic blue print interpretation course with emphasis on dimension, line work, symbols and abbreviations, and details commonly used in prints.   A very short section will include a basic introduction to CAD programs in the production of blueprints.

 

CT 110 Carpentry I - 6 credits
This course is designed to familiarize the student with all the various aspects and procedures of carpentry pertaining to residential and light commercial construction, including concrete forming and pouring, floor, wall, and roof framing, sheathing and basic layout procedures.  The course will also introduce the student to the language of construction and familiarize students with basic terminology.

 

CT 120 Carpentry II - 6 credits
This course is a continuation of the process of familiarizing the student with all the various aspects and procedures of carpentry pertaining to residential and light commercial construction.  In particular, this course will emphasize the exterior siding and trim, ceiling and floor insulation, soffit and fascia as well as roofing applications.

 

CT 130 Carpentry III - 6 credits (prerequisite CT 101, CT 110, CT 120)
This course is designed to increase the student's knowledge of all the various aspects of carpentry on an advanced level using actual field exercises and experience working with established construction firms.  The students will be able to apply those concepts and hands-on experience learned in the classroom and shop in actual building project settings.  Those students not able to be placed with contracting firms will work on campus on remodeling, maintenance, and various repair projects or construction projects that may arise.

 

CT 141 Materials - 2 credits
This course is designed to expose the student to a broad range of construction materials commonly used in the construction industry.

 

CT 202 Architectural Drafting - 3 credits (prerequisites CT 105, CT 205)
This course is designed to be an introduction to the graphic language of the construction industry and a basic understanding of drafting with the use of CAD.   Instruction will include drafting instrument usage, sketching, drafting, developing floor plans with the use of CAD, lettering and dimensioning.

 

CT 205 Print Reading II - 2 credits (prerequisite CT 105)
A continuation of Print Reading I, an in-depth study of residential and light commercial construction plans and specifications.  This is a comprehensive blue print interpretation course with emphasis on dimensions, line work, symbols and abbreviations, and details commonly used in prints.  Some work will be done with computers in generating basic blue prints using CAD programs.

 

CT 210 Carpentry IV - 6 credits (prerequisites CT 110, CT 120)
This course is designed to familiarize the student with all the various aspects and procedures of carpentry pertaining to residential and light commercial thermal and sound insulation, interior wall and ceiling finish, flooring, stair construction, and interior trim and finish.

 

CT 220 Carpentry V - 6 credits
(prerequisites CT 101, CT 110, CT 120, CT 210)
This course is designed to familiarize the student with all the various aspects and procedures of carpentry pertaining to countertops for kitchens, bathrooms and storage areas.

 

CT 240 Estimating - 3 credits
This course is designed to expose the student to the field of estimating materials and cost involved for individual projects.
